On 8 December, it’s time again for the eco://award: Then eco will once again present the renowned award of the Internet industry. Christiane Skiba, Branch Manager and eco Head of Marketing & Events, is working with her team to prepare the annual industry highlight, which will take place at the eco://congress, which will be held at Cloud Expo Europe in Frankfurt. In a short interview, she will be explaining, among other things, what visitors can be looking forward to.
Ms Skiba, what awaits the participants of the eco://congress this year?
We are trying something new and are offering our congress as a content partner as part of the two-day Cloud Expo Europe in Frankfurt. Around 300 exhibitors and high-ranking IT decision-makers are expected as visitors in Hall 3 of the exhibition centre. On the eco stage, in the middle of the trade exhibition, experts will talk about current threats and new strategies on 8 December and share their experiences and forecasts.
And what will the content be about?
We are currently preparing several agenda items where we want to address key issues in the industry. These are scheduled for one hour each, starting with two to three keynote speeches. These then provide the framework for exciting panel discussions among the selected experts. From 7 p.m. onwards, we have planned the festive Awards ceremony and an after-show surprise for networking and celebrating as a crowning finale.
So in 2021, finally another live event?
Yes, we are very happy! After we let all events take place online due to the pandemic, the first events are now starting as hybrid events until it’s finally back to ‘eco on tour’ again on 8 December!
Basically, we are also satisfied with the online events – from the small webinars to our virtual birthday party, which we produced live in a TV studio and provided the viewers with party packages in advance, everything went very well indeed. And the Awards ceremony also worked very smoothly with the video calls in from all around the world.
But as an event organiser, a live event is still something else and we are happy to have hopefully overcome the lean period.
