eco://awards on 8.12.: List of Nominees Published

On 8 December, eco – Association of the Internet Industry will present the eco://awards for the 20th time. After the pandemic-related online awards ceremony in 2020, eco expects eco members and the entire Internet industry to be back on site for the 2021 awards ceremony. Cloud Expo Europe at Messe Frankfurt will provide the setting for the ceremony. Renowned personalities from the industry will present the coveted trophies in six categories: Cloud & Hosting, Data Centre Infrastructure, Security, Start-ups, Sustainability, and Ladies in Tech. The following nominated companies are on the jury’s shortlist:

Cloud & Hosting

  • DRACOON GmbH (DRACOON)

Data Centre Infrastructure

  • SCALEWAY SAS (Scaleway’s DC5)

Security

  • G DATA CyberDefense AG (BEAST)

Startups

The  industry expert juries will select the winners by 8 December. The decision criteria include the uniqueness and innovation of each submission as well as its scope and impact on the industry. The winning companies and a Woman in Tech will be honoured with a congratulatory speech on 8 December, after the first day of Cloud Expo Europe, and will subsequently receive an award and certificate. After the awards ceremony, visitors can look forward to an after-show surprise: they can spend the evening in the eco Winter Wonderland at the trade fair and enjoy Christmas music and delicacies to give the pre-Christmas season that certain glow.

eco on tour: In the run-up to the awards ceremony, the eco://congress will take place on 8 December at Cloud Expo Europe. In a varied programme with four focal topics, under the motto of “Digital sovereignty meets future Internet”, some of the best minds in the Internet industry will talk on the eco stage about trends and challenges for SMEs and big players as well as innovations in industry and politics. They will also shed light on the digital transformation from a business and cultural perspective and take a closer look at the self-sovereign identity and recipes for success of diversely positioned companies.
