CSAM: The CEOs of four major European telecoms operators call for a clear legal basis to allow them to block access to known Child Sexual Abuse Material in an open letter to EU Commission President von der Leyen, EU Parliament President Metsola and European Council President Costa.

Influencers: Euractiv reports about the European Institutions’s relationship with Influencers. The Council’s one-year pilot scheme granting content creators limited access to summits and ministerial meetings started in July. The Parliament has been inviting influencers since the 2019 elections. The EP has already issued around 200 invitations to content creators in 2026 alone.

Gambling: Politico reports about the fight regarding a potential tax on online betting.

Data Protection: The Chair of the European Data Protection Board Anu Talus asked Michael McGrath, Commissioner for Democracy, Justice, the Rule of Law and Consumer Protection, in an open letter to assess whether the US Supreme Court judgment Trump v. Slaughter affects the adequacy decision underpinning the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. The US Supreme Court had ruled that US President Donald Trump was allowed to remove members of independent agencies.
