News, Publications and Consultations from the Past Week
News CW 06 (03.02.2025-09.02.2025)
E-commerce: The EU Commission has presented a toolbox for online trading.
CSA Regulation: The Polish Council Presidency has submitted a new proposal that no longer provides for the obligation to scan private communications. Instead, providers are to continue acting at their own discretion within the framework of “voluntary chat control”. Three years after the regulation comes into force, the Commission is to re-evaluate the legal and technical possibilities.
AI Act: The EU Commission has published guidelines on prohibited AI practices. These are designed to ensure that the AI Act is applied consistently and effectively and contain legal explanations and practical examples to make the provisions easier to understand. However, the guidelines are not legally binding, as the CJEU has the final say on the interpretation of EU legal acts.
