Responding to the impact of the Corona pandemic and the deteriorating global economic situation, the German coalition agreed on Wednesday evening to a historically-significant economic recovery package to the tune of 130 billion Euro for this and next year. The eco Association welcomes the fact that a share of the budget will also be used to promote digital technologies.

eco draws up a 6-point catalogue of requirements from the Internet industry for the strengthening of Europe as a digital location

A broad alliance from politics, industry, academia, and society advocates for a mutual and comprehensive understanding of education in the digital world. The German Society for Informatics (Gesellschaft für Informatik – GI) launched a charter to this effect on 14 August. The charter, which eco has also signed, expresses the mutual understanding of the signatories of education in a world shaped by digitalization.

The topics of securing specialist workers, New Work, and (further) education in the digital world of work are right at the top of the political agenda and also shaped the debate in the “New Work Check”, organized by the eco Association.
