eco Survey on Germany’s Digital Policy in the Corona Crisis: Majority of Respondents Call on Government to Build a High-Performance & Competitive Digital Infrastructure – Time for a Digital Ministry

In light of the Corona crisis, the German federal government should focus more on digital policy issues. 65.4 percent of Germans share this view, according to a representative survey commissioned by eco – Association of the Internet Industry from the opinion research institute Civey - a survey in which 2,500 people in Germany took part at the beginning of August.

eco Association: Recovery Package Must Provide the Necessary Boost to Innovation and Modernisation after Corona

Responding to the impact of the Corona pandemic and the deteriorating global economic situation, the German coalition agreed on Wednesday evening to a historically-significant economic recovery package to the tune of 130 billion Euro for this and next year. The eco Association welcomes the fact that a share of the budget will also be used to promote digital technologies.

eco Signs German Charter for Digital Education: For a contemporary understanding of education in the connected world

A broad alliance from politics, industry, academia, and society advocates for a mutual and comprehensive understanding of education in the digital world. The German Society for Informatics (Gesellschaft für Informatik – GI) launched a charter to this effect on 14 August. The charter, which eco has also signed, expresses the mutual understanding of the signatories of education in a world shaped by digitalization.
