Olaf Pursche and Oliver Dehning now jointly lead the eco Security Competence Group.
Double expertise for IT security in the eco Association: Olaf Pursche, Head of Communications at the Swiss IT Security Group AG, is now leading the eco Security Competence Group together with Oliver Dehning, Specialist for Cloud Security. The dual leadership covers a broad spectrum of IT security topics and works together with eco member companies on current IT security topics and issues in conferences, workshops, and discussion. Topics range from personal and organisational security and the protection of IT systems to security management issues and raising employee awareness.
“In order to increase trust in digitalisation and the resilience of the Internet, the topic of security is of central importance to eco,” says eco’s Managing Director Alexander Rabe. “Olaf Pursche has been an active member of the Security Competence Group for many years. I am therefore very pleased about the additional commitment with which he will promote and support the work of the Competence Group.”
Strengthening the resilience of user companies
“I am delighted to have the opportunity to discuss and implement current strategies for greater IT security together with the Internet industry in the eco Security Competence Group,” says Olaf Pursche. “Using my journalistic and practice-oriented perspective, I would like to complement Oliver Dehning’s technical expertise and, together with him, provide eco member companies with a more comprehensive picture of the current challenges of IT security,” Pursche adds. Current topics include IT security and artificial intelligence, IoT security, NIS2 and other regulatory challenges for companies.
Explaining effective IT security in an understandable way is one of the strengths of Olaf Pursche, who, among other things, taught protection concepts against cyber attacks as Head of Software Testing at Computerbild. As Head of Communications at the AV-TEST Institute, he has focused on IT security in the Internet of Things Competence Group (IoT), and is now contributing his experience to the work of the eco Security Competence Group.
