- eco plans to present the prestigious award for the Internet industry on 8 December as part of Cloud Expo Europe at the “Messe Frankfurt” trade fair

Companies now have until 30 August to submit their initiatives, projects, products and services for the eco://awards. The eco Association has extended the application deadline for the renowned award of the Internet industry by one week. “We are currently in very challenging and agile times. We want to take this into account and give companies the flexible opportunity to complete and submit applications until 30 August,” says Christiane Skiba, Head of Marketing & Events at eco – Association of the Internet Industry. For more than 20 years, eco – the largest association of the Internet industry in Europe with 1,100 members – has been honouring forward-looking companies and their solutions with the eco://awards. After the 2020 eco awards ceremony took place as an online-only event, a live event is planned this year – insofar as allowed by the Covid situation – as part of Cloud Expo Europe at the Frankfurt trade fair.
On 8 December, eminent personalities will then present the award in six categories: Data Centre Infrastructure, Security, Start-ups and Cloud & Hosting. The eco://awards Ladies in Tech pays tribute to the special commitment of outstanding women in the internet industry, while the Sustainability category distinguishes innovations and new technologies which make digitalisation resource-friendly in the long term.
In six award categories, juries will select the best of the best in the Internet industry
The entries nominated in each category are decided by juries of digital experts from business, science, research and politics. They evaluate the uniqueness and innovation of each submission as well as its scope and significance for the industry. After the nomination phase, the expert juries make their selection of the best submission for the industry.
eco://Congress: Digital sovereignty meets future Internet
Just in advance of the eco://Awards ceremony, the industry will meet on the same day at the eco://congress. Under the motto of “eco on tour!”, an exciting programme awaits the participants from 11:00 am. As part of Expo Europe, experts will speak on the eco stage about current cyber threats and new strategies, and will engage in an exchange of experiences. The focal topics of “Innovation meets Transformation”, “Infrastructure meets Cloud”, “Security meets Sovereignty” and “Diversity meets Tech” will provide the framework for exciting panel discussions and presentations.
