Vivien Witt has joined the Board of the European Internet Forum (EIF). At eco, she holds the position of international stakeholder management and strategic partnerships. Following her election to the Board in February, Vivien Witt was confirmed at the 24th Annual General Assembly Meeting of the EIF in Brussels on 9 April. For the next three years, Vivien will be responsible for the EIF’s administrative, financial and human resources matters as a Board Member. The eco Association, along with representatives from individual companies, is one of six industry associations represented on the EIF Board.
“I am looking forward to working with the Board of the European Internet Forum (EIF) and am convinced that we can use the EIF as an important discussion platform to jointly develop new approaches on how we want to shape the Internet of the future,” says Vivien Witt. “Through my work on the EIF Board, I will advocate for a responsible and innovation-friendly approach to new technologies and discuss appropriate measures with decision-makers and industry representatives. My work will focus on promoting digital infrastructures and global Internet governance, which is what makes digital value creation in Europe possible in the first place.”
The EIF was founded in 2000 by Members of the European Parliament. Since then, the group has grown into an NGO (non-governmental organisation) and brings together numerous MEPs with industry representatives. Their work spans topics such as cybersecurity, digital economy, digital society, connectivity, technology, data and Internet governance.
