Protection of minors: This year’s Safer Internet Forum took place on Thursday. Under the title “Why age matters: Protecting and empowering youth in the digital age”, participants discussed how to ensure age-appropriate online experiences.
AI: The European Commission, the European Investment Bank Group and the European Investment Fund signed a memorandum of understanding to support the development and deployment of AI Gigafactories across the European Union.
Digital Omnibus: Netzpolitik.org reports in German on the varying reactions of Member States to the European Commission’s reform package.
Data retention: According to heise online, the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Home Affairs will propose a new attempt at data retention in the course of next year.
Labour law: The European Commission has presented a roadmap for future-proof, high-quality jobs. A potential future legislative act could include regulations on algorithmic management and artificial intelligence in the workplace.
