Commission confirmed: In its meeting on 27 November, the European Parliament elected the new EU Commission. Its term began on 1 December 2024.
Chat control: In the negotiations over the “CSAM Directive” (child sexual abuse material), a consensus seems to be emerging in the Council. The topic is on the agenda for the upcoming Council meeting on 12 December 2024.
Age verification: France is planning to introduce a minimum age for social media. The initiative coincides with efforts by the US company meta to implement age verification for app stores or operating systems.
