News, Publications and Consultations from the Past Week

News CW 27 (01.07.2024-07.07.2024)

Digital Decade: The “Second Report on the State of the Digital Decade” was published on 2 July. The most recent analysis by the EU Commission shows that, in the current scenario, the collective efforts of Member States will fall short of the EU’s level of ambition. In particular, there is a lack of additional investment at EU and national level in the areas of digital skills, high-quality connectivity, uptake of artificial intelligence (AI), data analysis by enterprises, semiconductor production and start-up ecosystems. Member States are now invited to review and adjust their national roadmaps to align with the ambition of the Digital Decade Policy Programme before 2 December 2024. The Commission will report on the progress made in the next State of the Digital Decade report, in 2025. (Commission)
