Digital Services Act: The Digital Services Act (DSA) came into force on 16 November 2022 after being published in the Official Journal of the EU on 27 October 2022. It regulates the obligations of digital services such as marketplaces that connect consumers with goods, services and content. It protects user rights online, creates transparency and accountability for online platforms and applies across the EU. The Commission provides the most important information for consumers and companies in a Q&A. (Commission)

AI Act: On Tuesday 13 February, the Single Market (IMCO) and Civil Liberties (LIBE) Committees voted 71 to 8 (7 abstentions) in favour of the outcome of the negotiations with the Member States on the Artificial Intelligence Act (AI Act). The provisional agreement on the AI Act was thus approved. (EP)
