AI: The EU Commission has published a proposal that providers of general-purpose AI models are expected to use to summarise the data used to train their artificial intelligence. In this context, euractiv reports on calls from copyright holders for a new legal framework for licensing agreements.
DSA: Politico reports on American criticism of the Digital Services Act. The House of Representatives Judiciary Committee has described it as a “foreign censorship threat” in a report.
AI: Chinese Premier Li Qiang proposed at the World AI Conference in Shanghai that a global organisation for cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence be established. He said it was important to strengthen coordination between countries in order to create a globally recognised set of rules for the development and safety of AI.
Data centres: United Nations Secretary-General AntĂłnio Guterres has called for all data centres to be powered by 100% renewable energy by 2030.
Social media: Euractiv reports on the (planned) regulation of minors’ access to social media in France, Ireland, Spain and Greece.
