Post-quantum cryptography: The EU Member States have presented a roadmap for the implementation of post-quantum cryptography. According to this roadmap, all Member States should start transitioning to post-quantum cryptography by the end of 2026; critical infrastructures should be transitioned as soon as possible, but no later than the end of 2030.

European Media Freedom Act: The EU Commission has launched a consultation on upcoming guidelines to protect media service providers from the unjustified removal of their content from very large online platforms (with over 45 million users per month).

AI: The EU Commission has unveiled new features for AI researchers and industry on the AI-on-Demand platform (aiodp.eu).

Submarine cables: A group of experts from EU Member States and the EU Commission has agreed on EU-wide mapping and coordinated risk assessment of submarine cable infrastructures. The results are due to be published in autumn 2025.

Media Pluralism: The Centre for Media Pluralism and Media Freedom has presented its Media Pluralism Monitor 2025.
