DSA: The current transparency reports from very large online platforms (VLOPs) and search engines (VLOSEs) can be viewed here. The Digital Services Act requires online services to publish data on content moderation at regular intervals (once a year, or twice a year for VLOPs and VLOSEs).
Digital sovereignty: The European Commission presented the €75 million EURO-3C project at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. The aim is to create Europe’s first “large-scale federated Telco-Edge-Cloud” infrastructure. Telco-Edge-Cloud combines telecommunications networks, edge computing and cloud infrastructure into a single, integrated platform, bringing high speed, secure computing power closer to end-users.
Social media: On Thursday, the first meeting of the Special Panel on child safety online took place. The expert panel advises the European Commission on, among other things, the introduction of a uniform EU-wide age limit for access to social media.
DSA: The European Commission is examining whether the gaming platform Roblox could be classified as a VLOP.
Start-ups: Euractiv reports on the pros and cons of five different ways to implement “EU Inc” or the “28th regime.” The plan is to create an EU-wide company entity meant to help startups.
AI: The expert group appointed by the European Commission has published the second draft of the code of practice for transparency of AI-generated content.
Chat control: The LIBE Committee failed to reach an agreement. Now, the Parliament will decide this week on the extension of the transitional regulation, which is set to expire at the beginning of April.
