Technology trends: According to a study, 70% of surveyed Board members from the DACH region reported generating measurable business value through AI applications. Alongside efficiency gains, respondents reported cost reductions and increases in turnover. The study also revealed that cybersecurity technologies (81%) and cloud computing (80%) will be crucial for business success over the next five years.

AI: The NGO Finance Watch fears that artificial intelligence could and endanger the stability of the financial markets and undermine consumer rights and therefore advocates clear regulation.

Data centres: The lobby group Digitaleurope has proposed a data centre sustainability assessment scheme that aims to balance transparency and operational realities while driving significant environmental improvements across the industry.

STEP: The Strategic Technologies for Europe Platform has mobilised over 15 billion Euros in its first year. It funds digital technologies and deep tech innovations, clean and resource-efficient technologies and biotechnologies.

Digitalisation: An electronic registration system for non-EU citizens is to be gradually introduced at the EU’s external borders.

European Health Data Space: The European Health Data Space Regulation (EHDS) will come into effect on 26 March 2025.
