German Passenger Transport Act: Policy-Makers Must Not Squander the Opportunity for Digital Mobility

The German Bundestag will vote on the Passenger Transportation Act (Personenbeförderungsgesetz) next Friday. eco urges policy-makers to not miss out on the opportunity for modern, climate-friendly mobility: With the Passenger Transportation Act’s planned return obligation and pre-order deadlines for rental cars, new inequities will be created for providers. Corona times have shown that we need more digitalisation, not less.

eco Managing Director Alexander Rabe comments:

“With the return obligation and pre-order deadline for rental cars, we run the risk of squandering the development opportunity for modern digital mobility. The legislators must finally deliver on its promise for a fair level playing field for all providers.”
