On 04.06.2020, an event took place in the premises of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) in Berlin to present the current status of GAIA-X. The German Minister for Economic Affairs, Peter Altmaier, and his French colleague, Bruno Le Maire, emphasised the great importance of an open, transparent and secure European data infrastructure. Afterwards, various experts reported on the current work in the individual workstreams and presented the first case studies. Andreas Weiss of EuroCloud Germany gave a presentation on the opportunities GAIA-X offers cloud service providers. New publications were also released in the course of the event.
