Current Nameshield Study on Email Security and Deliverability in the E-Commerce Sector

DMARC (Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting & Conformance) is an email authentication protocol that helps companies protect their domains from email spoofing and phishing attacks by ensuring that only authorised senders can send emails on behalf of the domain. It also provides feedback to the domain owner about abusive activities.

Implementing DMARC increases both IT security and the effectiveness of email marketing. On the one hand, it reduces the risk of phishing, and on the other hand, in combination with BIMI (Brand Indicators for Message Identification), it can achieve a compelling branding effect directly in the customer’s inbox. Especially in e-commerce, email marketing is a significant business driver.

So how are the DMARC and BIMI protocols being implemented in the e-commerce sector in Germany? Nameshield has evaluated and analysed the top 100 e-commerce companies in Germany in a recent study.
