5 Questions for Thilo Hospe, MEN@NET GmbH

  1. Could you give us a brief introduction to your company in 2-3 sentences?

With pleasure. Since its foundation in 1999, MEN@NET GmbH has specialised in network and performance analyses of the data networks of data centres. As a partner of a wide range of technology companies, we are a professional provider of IT services, especially in the SAN (Storage Area Network) sector. There are many experienced monitoring experts in our team. They are able to quickly analyse highly complex IT systems and uncover weak points in order to optimise structures and thus reduce costs. At MEN@NET, we see ourselves as a manufacturer-independent consultancy and provider of solutions and services.

  1. Which digitalisation topics are particularly important to you?

In the digital world, values such as trust, honesty and reliability also matter – these are qualities which form the basis for good cooperation, not just in the analogue world. We therefore always act according to our motto: Let’s do the right things instead of making the wrong things right!

  1. What are the special challenges in your branch currently, and how are you working on them?

All information is perceived to be freely available, everywhere and at any time. However, the stakeholders often lack the baseline knowledge and experience to make these services available in a digitally sovereign manner. With our experience and know-how, we enable our customers to act better and more independently. At the same time, we support them in thinking outside the box and getting to know alternative perspectives. Key phrases that drive us are: Paradigm shift through migration to the cloud, preventing loss of know-how, globalisation, corporate takeovers, and ever shorter innovation cycles.

  1. How do you expect your membership of the eco Association to support you in this?

As we see it, membership of the eco Association presents a very good opportunity to exchange ideas across sectors and to gain knowledge or pass on experience. The diverse topics that are currently being discussed are not always just the so-called mainstream, but also deal with the different facets and challenges of the technologies. Furthermore, by bringing our many years of experience into the mix, we expect an expansion of our competence network with a view to actively shaping and, above all, safeguarding the future of IT in Germany.

  1. What opportunities does digitalisation offer us for the future?

With more information which is increasingly valid, it helps us to make better, more intelligent, and faster decisions. We can better distinguish between what is “true” and what is “false” and quickly adapt our processes accordingly. This saves time for strategic tasks and allows us to focus on overarching issues and things which are likely to have greater importance – including individual quality of life and work.

Thank you very much for the interview!
