5 Questions for Fabian Peter, ayedo Cloud Solutions GmbH

Digitalisation is an essential enabler for addressing today’s challenges, says Fabian Peter, founder and Managing Director of ayedo GmbH in the eco member interview:

Mr Peter, could you please give us a brief introduction to your company, ayedo?
ayedo is a modern IT system integrator with its head in the cloud but its roots in traditional data centre operations. With our expertise in open source software and the CNCF landscape, we support customers from industry and SMEs in the use of container technologies on-premise and in the cloud. We offer a broad range of consulting, implementation and managed services in the area of containers, Docker, Kubernetes and automation.

Which digitalisation topics are particularly important to you?
It is important to ensure data sovereignty and data security, as well as flexibility and portability of solutions to avoid vendor lock-in. On top of that, there is a need to use community-based, open source solutions and provide training, advice and support for these solutions.

What are the special challenges of your industry at the moment and how are you working on them?
The German technology and IT market lag far behind the technological standards of the rest of the world. We therefore focus on open source technologies that are already established in our industry and offer the best conditions for high-quality technology transfer among market participants. As a company, we release all of our software with flexible open source license and contribute to the maintenance and improvement of existing components through the OSS contributions of our employees. We also place a high value on professional in-depth knowledge and therefore invest heavily in the training of our employees and customers in the latest technologies and standards.

How do you expect your membership in the eco Association to support you in this regard?
We are primarily seeking synergies and collaboration opportunities to advance the cloud native ecosystem, which is still rather fragile in Germany, and thereby create collaborative solutions for all market participants. We see EuroCloud as a promoter for community work and thus as a decisive driver of technological progress in Germany and Europe.

What opportunities does digitalisation offer us in the future?
In a world that is increasingly dominated by software, it is important to create adapted processes and information flows in order to stay competitive and on the ball. “Digitalisation”, along with cultural rethinking, is an important enabler to deal with the increasing amount of information and challenges of our time. It allows us to serve complex processes more reliably and sustainably, thereby creating capacity for progress.

Mr Peter, thank you very much for the interview.
