Mr Lehbrink, we’re pleased to welcome you as an eco member.
- Could you give us a brief introduction to your company in 2-3 sentences?
qbee AS helps customers to easily digitalise in the field of Industry 4.0. Our smart Linux device management and remote maintenance software allows new and existing IoT projects to be managed centrally in a simple and secure way. OTA (over-the-air) software updates, secure VPN access and monitoring of gateways, industrial controllers or servers: All of these enable IIoT projects to be realised quickly and cost-efficiently.
- Which digitalisation topics are particularly important to you?
We attach great importance to security and cost efficiency. Our solution also allows older systems to be easily retrofitted. We make OT (operational technology) fit for IT.
- What are the special challenges in your branch currently, and how are you working on them?
Over and over again, we’re experiencing that many projects lack specialist skills in the areas of IoT security and device management. This reminds us somewhat of the server industry 20 years ago. In that instance, server management software revolutionised the industry. With https://qbee.io, we’re now helping to do the same in the area of Industry 4.0.
- How do you expect your membership of the eco Association to support you in this?
We anticipate exciting discussions on various topics of digitalisation such as security – but also on artificial intelligence, which we are now using for analysis purposes.
- What opportunities does digitalisation offer us for the future?
Digitalisation offers humanity the opportunity to analyse, combine and use information at an unprecedented speed. However, in doing so, we hand over control to algorithms, some of which we can no longer understand or fathom. Here it’s essential to create transparency and open standards to ensure that the digitalisation of our society neither takes place in a black box nor on systems that have security problems.
Thank you very much for the interview, Mr Lehbrink!
