Through technological cooperation and collaborative development of innovation, we will overcome the challenges of the future, says UNIBERG CEO Andreas Möller in an eco member interview.
Mr Möller, could you please give us a brief introduction to your company, UNIBERG GmbH?
UNIBERG as an engineering and consulting company specialises in telecommunications, systems engineering and IT process optimisation. Our customers benefit from our expertise, grounded in extensive technology knowledge and years of experience in programming for software-based networks, analytics and system automation. Working on behalf of our clients, we design and implement the most expansive mobile, VoIP, and Internet infrastructures across Europe.
Which digitalisation topics are particularly important to you?
Enabling the use of robotics through private 5G networks, edge technology, Digital Twin (BIM), sensor technology, AI, video analytics and real-time data processing to automate construction sites and similar mobile, time- and resource-intensive industrial applications.
What are the special challenges in your industry at the moment and how are you working on them?
The shortage of skilled workers is one of the major challenges in the IT sector. UNIBERG addresses this issue by recruiting top international staff, by incorporating new employees from student trainees, effectively supporting them in their master’s and bachelor’s theses. Employee satisfaction and appreciation are also significant factors. To this end, UNIBERG provides various opportunities for personal development in terms of career, competence, and earnings, along with flexibility in working hours, location, and family integration.
How do you expect your membership in the eco association to support you in this?
As an association, eco enables us to identify and develop new market sectors and technological trends. While the past was dominated by competitive thinking, the future lies in technological cooperation and collaborative development of innovation, as well as new business sectors. eco is thus also an important platform for networking with potential customers and partners.
What opportunities does digitalisation offer us in the future?
The continuous digitalisation and eventual full automation of processes, business procedures, technical controls, and production will bring about societal change. Simultaneously, we will be able to achieve more environmentally friendly and resource-efficient production, at reduced costs and shorter timeframes.
