The “CloudiFacturing Project” (CloudiFacturing.eu), funded by the European Commission, has announced its first call for industrial and application-oriented experiments. The project is seeking 7 mini-consortiums that want to test and use new technologies for the optimization of production processes.
The use scenario should simulate production processes or tools and integrate production/ factory data (sensor data) – in order to optimize the all-round process by means of analytical practices.
Mini-consortiums that can take part should be composed of at least two companies / partners from different European States. Typically, one company of the consortium will be the technology provider (consultant / software provider) and a second company will be the user of the new technology.
Through a moderated all-round process, the participants will gain experience in HPC / cloud computing technologies, in order to develop prototypes for their own optimization process, to test these in a low-risk environment, and potentially later to implement them.
The European Commission funding amounts to a maximum of € 100,000 per use scenario – the sum varies depending on the number of partners and the total costs of the use scenario; the duration of a use scenario is 12 months. The application phase begins on 01 July 2018 and runs until 30 September 2018 – all necessary information and forms will be published on the website www.CloudiFacturing.eu from 01 July 2018.
About CloudiFacturing
CloudiFacturing – Cloudification of Production Engineering for Predictive Digital Manufacturing – was founded in October 2017 and is a European innovation action undertaken in conjunction with the “Factories of the Future (FoF) Initiative”. Its goal is to optimize production processes and productivity – and, through the use of cloud / HPC-based modelling and simulation of the online production data through advanced data analysis, to support manufacturers on their journey to competitiveness and resource efficiency.
