New Peak at DE-CIX in Frankfurt: 3.9 Terabits per second

DE-CIX Frankfurt hit the 3.934 Terabits per second traffic peak on 19 April, once again a Sunday.
While DE-CIX has announced new exchanges in Palermo and Marseille, and new peaks at DE-CIX New York and UAE-IX in Dubai made it into the news, DE-CIX Frankfurt is also growing too. No other Internet exchange in the world exchanges so much traffic per second. And the average traffic in the last four weeks was close to 2.4 Terabits per second.
The peak is the result of a growing customer base and the capacity expansion of our existing customers. In 2015, twenty 100GE ports have already been ordered, and the connected capacity at DE-CIX Frankfurt now exceeds 13 Terabits.
