Silke Kanes has joined the Board Members of eco – Association of the Internet Industry. She was elected by the General Assembly on 29 August 2025. The existing Board Members Oliver Süme, Klaus Landefeld, Norbert Pohlmann, and Felix Höger were confirmed in their positions. Oliver Süme remains Chair of the Board.

Kanes will lead the new portfolio for Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) and will also be responsible for Diversity and Corporate Culture within the association.

“Germany is the largest SaaS market in Europe, with growth rates of up to 20 percent. With a dedicated Board portfolio, we want to anchor this dynamic segment more firmly within the association, thereby providing new impetus for our members and stimulating strategic growth,” says Oliver Süme. “With Silke Kanes, we are gaining an experienced manager and expert in Software-as-a-Service, digital product development, and modern corporate culture, who can drive these issues forward in a competent and credible way,” Süme continues.

“Sustainable success in the Internet industry arises where different perspectives, openness to new ideas, and technological excellence come together. As a Board Member, I would like to contribute my experience and my determination to help further advance innovation, diversity, and responsible digitalisation together with our members,” says Silke Kanes.

The computer science graduate brings over 25 years of experience in senior positions in the Internet industry. She played a key role in developing the website builder CM4all at Content Management AG, which was marketed worldwide as a white-label solution. She later joined the Board Member of the Bonn-based Scopevisio AG and served on the Supervisory Board of IQUADRAT AG. Since 2024, she has been working as a consultant and keynote speaker with a focus on SaaS, digital transformation, diversity, and new leadership.

With the expansion of its Board Members, eco is marking its 30th anniversary year with a focus on membership growth and supporting the industry in future-ready organisational development.
