Two years ago, we started DE-CIX New York and thought that we would make this exchange big. Our first exchange in North America. Two years later we can say that the exchange’s performance over the past two years has exceeded our projections and certainly also industry expectations.
In two years, DE-CIX New York showed tremendous growth rates and went up to second place in the IX ranking of the New York metro area. Second place in two years!
“DE-CIX management and I certainly had high expectations for DE-CIX New York but those expectations were surpassed by the success of DE-CIX New York,” states Ed d’Agostino, Vice President of DE-CIX North America. “With more than 120 members, we have established our exchange as a true alternative to the existing, data center owned exchanges in New York. The community had wished for a neutral, more distributed exchange, and we were able to build it up and make it a success. The second US exchange, DE-CIX Dallas, will soon be operational, also delivering a true alternative for the Dallas-Fort Worth metro area.
