EuroCloud Launches Cloud Initiative: EuroCloud Native

  • EuroCloud Native is bringing together interested parties and representing them vis-à-vis hyperscalers
  • New initiative paves the way for the success of the public cloud in Germany
  • Kick-off event on 29 September in Frankfurt

EuroCloud Deutschland_eco e. V. (EuroCloud) is now giving the providers of public cloud-based solutions and services their own voice: EuroCloud Native, or ECN for short, is not only intended to be a specialist forum for cloud-native topics within the association of the German cloud computing industry, but also to pool the interests of frequently smaller, young and highly specialised companies and start-ups. To this end, EuroCloud Native will, for example, enter into dialogue with hyperscalers, promote the exchange of experiences and ideas, and also make it easier for customers to choose a cloud native specialist. The initiative will be launched on 29 September in Frankfurt (DE-CIX Office & MeetingCenter, Lindleystr. 12, 60314 Frankfurt). A kick-off event is planned, which will bring cloud native providers and hyperscalers into dialogue with each other.

Professionalize market and service offers and establish quality standards

Cloud native applications are developed both within and for the public cloud. Scalable, flexible and agile, they fully exploit the technological potential of virtualisation. “The demand for such services is greater than the supply,” says Dr. Nils Kaufmann, Head of the EuroCloud Native initiative. “By transferring know-how, we are paving the way for the success of the public cloud in Germany.” The new cloud initiative aims to professionalize the market and the services on offer and to develop common quality standards. On the other hand, the ECN also aims to design and implement its own services, establish best practices, and promote cooperation between providers. “We’re exchanging ideas, shaping trends and talking them through with experts, the media and the public,” says Thomas Noglik, Board Member of EuroCloud Deutschland.

EuroCloud Native: Launch on 29 September

EuroCloud Native is headed by the EuroCloud Board. An expert advisory board drawn from the membership will accompany and support the work. At the kick-off event, the initiative intends to gather relevant requirements from the market in order to tailor its offering to the market’s needs. The aim: to balance the needs of all parties and promote business. The half-day event is planned as a hybrid, so that visitors can participate both virtually and on-site. Participation is free after prior registration. Further information is available at: www.eurocloud.de/cloudnative
