EU Data Act: eco Sets Out the Internet Industry’s Expectations

The EU Commission has announced details of the planned Data Act for 23 February 2022. eco Chair of the Board Oliver Süme sets out the Internet industry’s expectations.

“Our expectation is that the draft Data Act will create the framework for an innovative data economy in Europe. For this, companies need legal certainty in dealing with data, and harmonised standards across Europe. To achieve greater use of non-personal data, the Data Act must address these issues without red tape and incentivise data sharing.”
