Tomorrow, the European Commission will present its new “AI Apply” strategy. With this strategy, Brussels aims to specifically promote the use and development of artificial intelligence in Europe and create a framework for innovation. eco welcomes the initiative, but at the same time calls for holistic implementation.
Commenting on tomorrow’s announcement of the EU AI Apply strategy, eco’s Managing Director Alexander Rabe says:
“It is a positive sign that the EU is finally moving away from a purely regulatory approach to AI and developing a strategy for Europe as an AI location that focuses on strengthening competencies and capacities. Broad promotion of the use of AI means a positive boost for Europe and the digital economy. However, such an approach can only be holistic and should not focus on individual areas such as the public sector.”
Above all, however, it is crucial that the initiative does not end up in another regulatory defensive battle, as emphasised by Alexander Rabe.
