Commenting on the Digital Services Act (DSA) adopted today by the EU Member States, eco Chair of the Board Oliver Süme has the following to say:
“In principle, we support a horizontal regulation in the DSA framework and are open to the additional obligations it places on online platforms. However, the aim should be to maintain a clear line and not to overload the instrument with special regulations. It is important to us that the obligations laid down in the DSA can also – and especially – be practicable for small and micro enterprises, or that these businesses are exempted from them. Definitions must be comprehensible and concrete. The liability regime and the principles of the e-Commerce Directive must continue to apply.”
