- Alliance for the Strengthening of Digital Infrastructures in Germany to remain on the Board of the Climate Neutral Data Centre Pact in 2026 and 2027
- Lukas Steiner represents the Alliance on the Board and highlights the importance of practical climate targets
The Alliance for the Strengthening of Digital Infrastructures in Germany, founded under the umbrella of eco – Association of the Internet Industry, will continue to be represented on the Board of the Climate Neutral Data Centre Pact (CNDCP) in 2026 and 2027. The alliance is thus continuing its commitment to sustainable and climate-neutral digital infrastructures at the European level.
The CNDCP is a European initiative that brings together data centre operators, technology providers and other stakeholders to accelerate the transition to climate-neutral data centres and establish common industry standards.
With Lukas Steiner, Political Counsellor at eco, a new board member from the Alliance’s ranks is now represented on the CNDCP Board. Steiner emphasises the growing relevance of the pact in the current regulatory environment:
“The CNDCP is an indispensable voice for climate neutrality in the data centre sector. Its role is becoming increasingly important as the regulatory framework continues to evolve – not only at the EU level, but also through different national interpretations of the Energy Efficiency Directive. In this context, the pact must remain both ambitious and practical in order to achieve sustainability goals without jeopardising operational realities.”
Lukas Steiner succeeds Dr Béla Waldhauser, Spokesperson for the Alliance for the Strengthening of Digital Infrastructures in Germany, in this role.
The Alliance for the Strengthening of Digital Infrastructures in Germany sees its continued participation on the CNDCP Board as a key contribution to connecting climate protection, technological innovation and economic feasibility in the data centre market.
