Data Protection: The General Court has dismissed an action in the Latombe v Commission case (T-553/23) for annulment of the new framework for the transfer of personal data between the European Union and the United States. On the date of adoption of the contested decision, the US ensured an adequate level of protection for personal data transferred from the EU to organisations in the US.
Technology sector: According to a report, only a tenth of the tech recommendations from Draghi’s report on EU competitiveness have been implemented after one year.

Age checks: Heise reports on discussions in the EU Parliament on the introduction of an EU-wide solution to age verification on the Internet. No clear line has yet been discerned.
Transatlantic relations: Resistance is forming in the European Parliament against the trade agreement with the US. In the context of the US’s ongoing attacks on the EU’s digital regulations, Henna Virkkunen has defended the DSA and the DMA in an open letter to Jim Jordan. After the EU Commission imposed a fine of €2.95 billion on Google for abusing EU competition rules in the advertising technology market, Donald Trump threatened new tariffs. The decision, originally scheduled for Monday, had initially been postponed, which has led to considerable criticism.
