Digital: The EU Commission and the High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy have presented the International Digital Strategy.

Cybersecurity crisis management: The EU Member States have adopted the Commission’s proposal on the “Cyber Blueprint”.

AI: The EU Commission has launched a public consultation on high-risk AI systems, which will remain open until 18 July 2025.

Cybersecurity: The EU Commission is making available a total of €145.5 million under the Digital Europe Programme and the Horizon Europe Programme. The funding will be used to promote, among other aspects, cybersecurity in hospitals and healthcare providers, as well as the use and development of generative AI for cybersecurity applications.

AI: The Joint Research Centre (JRC) has published its Generative AI Outlook Report.

CSAM: Politico reports on the EU’s difficult efforts to crack down on child sexual abuse material.

Social media: French President Macron is calling for children under the age of 15 to be banned from social media. He has set a three-month deadline to reach an EU-wide agreement – otherwise, national implementation will follow. The European Commission has responded by indicating that Member States will be free to set their own minimum ages (Euractiv).

AI: Politico reports on the struggle over the AI Act and the potential suspension of its implementation.

European Court of Justice

You can find the judicial calendar of the CJEU here.

The closing statements in the Google and Alphabet v Commission (C-738/22 P) case are scheduled for Thursday, 19 June 2025. The legal dispute concerns, among other things, competition law issues related to the conditions used for the pre-installation of apps on mobile devices, the tying of the search app (Google Search) to Play, the tying of the Chrome browser to Play and the search app, as well as obligations to prevent fragmentation.
