Claudia Plattner is to become the new president of the German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI). Norbert Pohlmann, eco Board Member for IT Security, congratulates:
“The topic of cybersecurity has been at the top of the digital agenda not only since the beginning of the Russian war of aggression. Companies and private users are constantly at risk of becoming victims of cyberattacks, as is the damage they incur. Therefore, it is more critical than ever to have a central institution for cybersecurity like the BSI that reliably manages the prevention, detection and counteraction of cyber attacks. As digitalisation progresses, IT security and the trustworthiness of digital applications and technologies are becoming increasingly significant in our society.
The major challenge is to significantly increase the level of cybersecurity in all areas and at all levels.
