On 8 and 9 May, registries, registrars, resellers as well as service providers and investors from the domains industry will again meet in Stockholm for the Nordic Domain Days 2023. The eco initiative topDNS is once again a partner of the conference, as in 2022, and will be involved in the programme on the second day with the focus topic “Policy & Tech”:
- Thomas Rickert, Director Names & Numbers at the eco Association will give a presentation entitled “NIS2 – What Does It Mean to the Domain Name Industry?” on 9 May. He will give the industry experts present an overview of the current state of the discussion on the implementation of the NIS2 Directive in the European Union and explain its effects on the domain name industry.
- In the afternoon, topDNS and iQ Global invite you to the DNS Abuse Workshop starting at 13:30. Throughout the afternoon, this workshop will provide all participants with practical insights to improve their own commitment to dealing with and curbing DNS abuse. The workshop builds on the findings from 2022, which were summarised and published as The Stockholm Recommendations. This year, the focus will be on the roles, responsibilities and capabilities of the various intermediaries that collectively operate the DNS ecosystem to quickly and appropriately combatting DNS abuse.
Keynote speeches will be contributed by renowned industry representatives such as Keith Drazek of Verisign, Kristian Ørmen of Internetstiftelsen (.se), Graeme Bunton of the DNS Abuse Insititute, Brian Cimbolic of the Public Interest Registry (.org), LG Forsberg of iQ Global, Jeffrey Bedser of CleanDNS and many more.
