“The goal of making data centres in Europe climate-neutral by 2030 is the right approach for our Alliance and thus our responsibility for the future,” says Dr. Béla Waldhauser, spokesperson for the Alliance for the Strengthening of Digital Infrastructures in Germany. „With the Alliance for the Strengthening of Digital Infrastructures in Germany under the umbrella of eco, we have been campaigning for climate-neutral data centres at the European level for four years now and I am pleased to be able to represent the Alliance with my voice on the Board of the Climate Neutral Data Centre Pact in the future in order to promote the European approach and the exchange with the EU Commission even more strongly here.”
The Climate Neutral Data Centre Pact has established a self-regulatory initiative that was developed in cooperation with the European Commission. In this way, the industry also actively supports the implementation of the EU Green Deal, which aims to make Europe the world’s first climate-neutral continent by 2050, as well as the European Data Strategy, according to which data centres are to be made climate-neutral by 2030.
