The Internet Industry in Germany 2020–2025

& Germany 2030 – Digital Infrastructure Scenarios

The Internet industry is entering a digital decade of superlatives: The study "The Internet Industry in Germany 2020-2025" forecasts revenue growth of 75 percent for the Internet industry in Germany.

This makes the Internet industry one of the most dynamic industries in Germany in the coming years. Today, the Internet industry accounts for 4.2 percent of GDP, and in 2025 it will account for a much larger share of 7 percent. Although the Covid-19 pandemic will lead to a decline in sales in individual segments in 2020, this will not be the case in the coming years. In the medium term, however, the crisis will accelerate digitalisation and lead to higher growth figures.

Since 2008, the eco Association and Arthur D. Little have been jointly analyzing developments in the Internet industry in Germany. Over the past five years, the industry has once again demonstrated its enormously successful development.
