Since October 2015, the EU-US Safe Harbour protections are gone. This has changed the transatlantic transfer of personal identifiable information. In July 2016 the EU Commission adopted “Privacy Shield” as a valid possibility for legal data transfer. But “Privacy Shield” is under attack – unfettered access of law enforcement and intelligence to personal data of European Citizens are still a daily occurrence.

As if that weren’t enough, with protectionism being on the rise, transatlantic business is facing a lot of risks. How will the political sector respond to the challenges of the new U.S. administration?
