New eco study investigates economic potential of artificial intelligence: 13 percent growth in German GDP by 2025 possible “We need a holistic approach that, alongside targeted research and development, also supports high-speed and sovereign digital infrastructures and societal acceptance for AI. So that small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) can also use AI optimally and in a sovereign manner, SMEs require especial support,” urges eco Chair of the Board Oliver J. Süme.
Artificial intelligence "Made in Germany" requires guidelines. For this, in the view of the association, there is a need above all for a reliable and appropriate framework for the use of AI. This would need to be based on innovation-friendly and market-oriented regulatory mechanisms, and would need to promote and support the use of AI in diverse industry sectors. eco brought together recommendations as to what initial guidelines should look like, and what needs to be taken into account in their formulation, in a set of Guidelines on the Handling of Artificial Intelligence, back in autumn 2018.
Service-Meister brings together AI and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The project delivers an important building block for the continued digitalization in Germany. The objective of Service-Meister is to make the necessary service knowledge regarding industrial plants available in a scalable fashion with the help of artificial intelligence (AI). The service platform, which functions across plants, departments, and companies, is especially customized to the challenges of German SMEs.
