eco Association on the Official Draft of the Revised Cybersecurity Act

eco – Association of the Internet Industry on today’s published draft of the revised Cybersecurity Act:

It is positive that the Commission is strengthening ENISA, the EU agency responsible for cybersecurity. The requirement for national liaison officers supports our call for stronger anchoring in the Member States across Europe. However, it remains to be seen whether this will ultimately lead to greater agility and stakeholder proximity, or merely result in more bureaucracy. We also welcome the intended acceleration of certification. It is important that certification continues to reflect internationally established standards and that Member States are given sufficient time to implement the new rules, given their different starting points. Investments that have already been made must not become obsolete due to new regulation.
