Meet topDNS, the initiative of the eco – Association of the Internet Industry aimed at combatting online abuse, at the Nordic Domain Days. On 13 and 14 May, registries, registrars, resellers, service providers and investors from the domain industry will gather again in Stockholm.
As in previous years, topDNS is a partner of the conference and is extensively involved in the programme: Lars Steffen, Head of Business Unit International, Digital Infrastructures & Resilience at the eco Association, will moderate the morning session on the main stage on 14 May. In addition to policy updates on the changes to registries’ and registrars’ contracts with ICANN, new top-level domains, the Digital Services Act and NIS2, the second part of the programme will focus on the current status of online abuse among hosting providers, registrars and registries.
In addition to Thomas Rickert, eco Director Names & Numbers, high-profile speakers from among eco members are on the agenda, including Keith Drazek from Verisign, Prudence Malinki from Markmonitor, Chris Lewis-Evans from CleanDNS, Rowena Schoo from the DNS Abuse Institute and Pinky Brand from NameBlock.
DNS Abuse Workshop in the afternoon
In the afternoon, topDNS and iQ Global invite you to the DNS Abuse Workshop from 1.30 pm. This workshop provides all participants with practical insights to improve the joint commitment in dealing with and curbing DNS abuse. The aim of the workshop is to create a mutual understanding of how different types of abuse are handled by different providers and service providers, what challenges are associated with certain types of abuse and how closer cooperation can help combatting online abuse, especially concerning content, more effectively. The workshop builds on the outcomes of the 2023 conference, which were summarised and published in the “Stockholm Recommendations”.
