Trust services: The European Parliament has adopted the trilogue result on the amended eIDAS Regulation. After the vote had been postponed on several occasions, on 29 February 2024 the plenary of the European Parliament adopted the trilogue result, which had been agreed upon by a large majority in November last year. A statement on Article 45, which contained the controversial issue of the web browser regulation, was also adopted.
Political advertising: In its plenary session on 27 February 2020, the European Parliament adopted the trilogue result for new transparency rules for political advertising. The Council’s endorsement is still pending and is expected in the coming weeks.
Standardisation: The European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI ) will elect a new president in April. According to a report by Euractiv, the number of candidates has narrowed down to three potential contenders.
