Prof. Norbert Pohlmann, Board Member for IT security at eco – Association of the Internet Industry comments on the Status Report on IT Security in Germany by the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI):
“The state of IT security in Germany is “tense to critical”, according to the Federal Office for Information Security in its latest situation report. There is already a “red alert” in some areas. We should take this very seriously: Trustworthy IT solutions are essential, because only through these can people have confidence in digitalisation. There is only one conclusion that can be drawn from the German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI)’s assessment: We need to strengthen IT security as a society as a whole! Both the private sector and the public sector must give IT security top priority, must focus on it even more intensively than before, and must have it in mind at all times in all IT projects. The new German federal government must place a special focus on IT security so that digitalisation can succeed”
