- Associations sign agreement for close cooperation in area of cloud security
- Security synergy potential for a global, international cloud community
Cologne/Berlin, 12 February 2020 – The Cloud Security Alliance (CSA), eco – Association of the Internet Industry, and EuroCloud Deutschland_eco have joined forces. Norbert Pohlmann, Board Member of eco and EuroCloud, and Linda Strick, Director CSA EMEA, signed an agreement to this effect today in Berlin.
The associations are thereby committing themselves to close cooperation in the area of security for cloud services. The CSA is one of the world’s leading organizations for the development of best practices, methods, and the creation of awareness for secure cloud computing, and it also issues corresponding guidelines. The cooperation will also allow members of both associations to receive discounts or free tickets for attending each other’s events and training activities.
Bringing together the security expertise of two cloud associations
“All members of the participating associations will benefit from our agreement,” says Linda Strick. “This cooperation agreement opens up synergy potential for a global, international community. The agreement strengthens the shared network for more cloud security.” The CSA conducts research on current technology issues, offers training and webinars as well as certification programs, organizes conferences, and develops tools for cloud computing.
“The cooperation is an important step towards the exchange of competencies in the field of IT security for connected systems. The area of cloud computing is becoming more and more relevant, and this requires extended protection concepts for values in the cloud as well as a high level of user acceptance,” comments Prof. Norbert Pohlmann, eco Board Member for IT Security.
“The security requirements for the use of cloud services are becoming increasingly extensive and complex,” adds Andreas Weiss, Director of EuroCloud Deutschland_eco e. V. “The expert knowledge of the Cloud Security Alliance is an important aid to this. With this cooperation, we will support an exchange for practical application and also contribute to the consideration of the requirements for GAIA-X.”
