For the first time since 1999 in Berlin, an ICANN meeting will take place in Germany with ICANN78 from October 21st to 26th, 2023 in Hamburg.
eco - Association of the Internet Industry e.V. organizes an accompanying program with its members before, during and after ICANN78 to highlight the importance and relevance of the Domain Name System (DNS), the domain industry, ICANN and the ICANN78 meeting at national and European level.

Of the over 1,000 members of the eco Association, more than 130 companies are part of the eco Names & Numbers Forum community. More than 75% of all domain names worldwide are managed by members of the eco association. This makes the competence group one of the largest interest groups for registries, registrars, resellers, resolver operators, secondary market operators and consultants in the domain industry.
eco – Association of the Internet Industry e. V. will co-host the ICANN78 meeting together with the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg and DENIC eG. Over 2,000 participants from research, the tech community, politics, business and civil society are expected at these meetings.

ISPCP Outreach Event
The Internet Service Providers and Connectivity Providers Constituency (ISPCP) will host an ISPCP Outreach Event (approx. 4 hours) as part of the Annual General Meeting to introduce the work of the ISPCP to a wider audience outside of its own community (telcos, ISPs, connectivity providers) and to recruit new members. The ISPCP Outreach Event is organised in collaboration with the ICANN Org‘s Stakeholder Engagement team and is usually hosted by national/regional telcos/ ISPs. The agenda is put together by the ISPCP.
Day Zero Workshop
On Friday, 20 October 2023, eco will offer a High Level Workshop Day on current regulatory topics (e.g. transposition/implementation of the Digital Services Act, the NIS-2 Directive, Trans-Atlantic Data Privacy Framework). The outcomes of the workshop will be recorded in writing, summarised in a white paper, and published. At the end of the Day Zero Workshop Day, the eco Community invites you to an exclusive reception in the evening for informal networking among the workshop participants.

The eco – Association of the Internet Industry and ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) hosted a joint ICANN-78 Readout to summarise and discuss selected topics from the Annual General Meeting in Hamburg.
